Childcare Practitioner (Toddler Room)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a committed and nurturing Childcare Practitioner to work specifically with toddlers in their well-established nursery in Nottingham . This role focuses on providing excellent care and education for children aged 1-3 years, supporting their crucial developmental milestones. You will engage children in age-appropriate activities, foster their social and emotional development, and ensure a safe and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with this age group and a strong understanding of toddler development. You will be an integral part of a supportive team dedicated to providing outstanding early years care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and education for toddlers, meeting their individual needs and developmental stages.
• Plan and implement a variety of engaging and stimulating activities, including sensory play, music, and movement.
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children in the toddler room, adhering to strict policies.
• Support children's language development, social skills, and emotional regulation through positive interactions.
• Maintain accurate daily records of children's activities, progress, and any specific care needs.
• Communicate effectively and positively with parents, sharing updates and working in partnership to support their child's development.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Early Years Education .
• Proven experience working with toddlers or in an early years setting.
• Good understanding of child development for the 1-3 age range.
• Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow nursery procedures.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety regulations.
