Childcare Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and reliable Childcare Support Worker to assist in their facility located in Edinburgh . This role involves providing essential support to the main childcare team, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children of various ages. You will assist with daily routines, activities, and care needs, contributing to the positive experiences of the children. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the childcare sector within a supportive team in Scotland , with a blend of on-site and potential remote administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified staff in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities for children.
• Provide support with children's personal care needs, including feeding, hygiene, and nappy changes.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment within the childcare setting.
• Support the implementation of the nursery's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety.
• Engage positively with children, fostering their social and emotional development.
• Assist with administrative tasks as required, potentially on a remote basis, such as updating records or preparing materials.

Requirements

• An introductory qualification in childcare (e.g., SVQ Level 2 or equivalent) or a willingness to undertake training.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to adhere to safeguarding and health & safety protocols in Edinburgh .
