Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and nurturing Childminder Assistant to support their registered childminder in Milton Keynes . This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with young children in a home-based setting, assisting with the care and education of a small group of children. You will help create a safe, fun, and stimulating environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop essential skills. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and eager to learn, working closely with the lead childminder to provide high-quality care that meets the individual needs of each child, fostering their curiosity and building positive relationships within a supportive and caring atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in providing a safe and stimulating environment for children.
• Engage children in a variety of age-appropriate play activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Support children's personal, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Help with snack and meal preparation, adhering to dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with nappy changing and toilet training routines.
• Observe and record children's activities and development, contributing to their learning journals.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• Previous experience in childcare is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Patience, reliability, and a responsible attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Willingness to undergo a background check (DBS) and complete relevant safeguarding training.
