Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client, an established childminder in Milton Keynes , is seeking a reliable and caring Childminder Assistant to support them in providing high-quality home-based childcare. You will assist in creating a warm, safe, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, participating in daily activities, meal preparation, and general care routines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about working with children in a family-like setting, offering flexibility and a chance to gain valuable experience within the childcare sector. You will work closely with the lead childminder to ensure the well-being and developmental needs of each child are met effectively and with great care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in supervising and caring for children in a home-based setting.
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and outings.
• Support with routine tasks such as feeding, nappy changing, and comforting children.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment, adhering to all childminding regulations.
• Observe and report on children's development and well-being to the lead childminder.
• Provide a supportive and nurturing presence for all children in Milton Keynes .

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
• A genuine love for children and a patient, caring disposition.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Understanding of basic safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team under the lead childminder.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, such as Paediatric First Aid.
