Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and caring Childminder Assistant to support a registered childminder in their busy home-based setting in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for young children. You will work closely with the childminder, assisting with daily routines, planning activities, and ensuring the well-being of each child. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in professional childcare within a small, family-oriented setting, contributing directly to the positive development of children.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder with the daily care and supervision of children.
• Engage children in a variety of age-appropriate play and learning activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Support with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
• Help to create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for the children.
• Observe and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to the registered childminder.
• Assist with nappy changes and toileting routines as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in a formal childcare setting or as a parent helper.
• A genuine love for working with children and a patient, nurturing disposition.
• Understanding of basic child safeguarding and health and safety principles.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a small team and follow instructions.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, such as Paediatric First Aid.
