Childminder (Self-Employed)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and nurturing individual to operate as a Childminder in the Glasgow area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education to provide high-quality, home-based childcare. You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and loving environment where children can learn and play. This role requires self-motivation, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting the development and well-being of the children in your care, working flexibly around families' needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating home-based childcare environment for children of various ages.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development, following national guidelines where applicable.
• Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, communicating regularly about their child's progress and daily activities.
• Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements for childminding are met, including registration with relevant authorities.
• Manage daily routines, including feeding, napping, and outings, catering to the individual needs of each child.
• Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, activities, and developmental milestones.

Requirements

• Must hold or be willing to obtain a recognised Childminding qualification (e.g., SCMA or equivalent).
• Must be registered with or willing to register with **Care Inspectorate**.
• Excellent understanding of child development, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety in a home environment.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and organise daily activities.
• A passion for providing excellent care and supporting children's early learning experiences.
