About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Childminder Support Officer to join their team in Leeds . This crucial role involves providing comprehensive support, guidance, and training to registered childminders and their assistants, ensuring they maintain high standards of childcare. The position operates on a hybrid model, combining essential on-site visits and community engagement with remote administrative tasks, policy development, and communication. You will play a key role in enhancing the quality and accessibility of childcare services across the region, working closely with childminders to help them meet regulatory requirements and thrive in their profession, fostering a network of excellent childcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular monitoring and support visits to registered childminders, assessing quality of care and compliance with regulations.
- Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of childcare, including the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and business development.
- Organise and deliver training sessions and workshops for childminders and their assistants, both in-person and online.
- Assist childminders in developing action plans to address areas for improvement and celebrate successes.
- Maintain accurate records of visits, communications, and training activities.
- Liaise with local authorities and other relevant agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to childminder support.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in childcare, such as Level 3 or above in Health, Social Care, or Childcare.
- Previous experience working directly with childminders or in an early years advisory role.
- Thorough knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding legislation, and relevant childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively across a hybrid working structure.
