Childminding Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and nurturing Childminding Assistant to support a registered childminder in the Sheffield area. This role involves assisting with the daily care and supervision of children in a home-based setting, helping to plan and execute fun, educational activities. You will play a key role in ensuring the children’s safety, well-being, and developmental progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for childcare to gain hands-on experience and work within a small, supportive team environment, contributing to a positive learning experience for young children.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead childminder in providing a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children.
• Engage children in a variety of age-appropriate play and learning activities.
• Support with daily routines such as feeding, napping, and personal care.
• Help maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the childminding environment.
• Observe children's development and communicate progress to the lead childminder and parents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in childcare, such as a nursery, school, or informal setting.
• A genuine interest in child development and a caring, patient attitude.
• Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to undertake necessary training, including First Aid.
