Children's Services Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Children's Services Officer to join their fully remote team, supporting families and children in the Bristol area. This vital role is dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children by providing essential support services and interventions. You will work collaboratively with families, external agencies, and internal teams to assess needs, develop care plans, and advocate for children's rights. This remote position offers the flexibility to make a significant impact while working from home, contributing to positive outcomes for children and families across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for children and families, identifying risks and support requirements.
• Develop and implement effective, child-centred support plans in collaboration with families and relevant professionals.
• Provide guidance, support, and advocacy for children and their families.
• Liaise closely with schools, health services, police, and other agencies to ensure integrated support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case records in line with organisational policies.
• Participate in safeguarding reviews and contribute to policy development within the team.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in social work, child development, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in working with children and families in a statutory or non-statutory setting.
• Thorough understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload effectively in a remote environment.
