Children's Support Worker
Location: Cwmbran, Torfaen, UK
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Job Description: Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? Our client is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their Children's Residential Services in Cwmbran. This role offers an engaging opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential through compassionate care and practical support. Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
- Promote independence and wellbeing of young residents
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with children
- Support children in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Protect children from health and welfare risks
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
Requirements
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- Restraint trained or willing to undertake a 3-day restraint training course (TMVA)
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
