CITIID PhD Programme in Immunity and Infection PhD Studentship (Fixed Term)

We are pleased to announce a PhD position, centred at the "Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease (CITIID)", within the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.

CITIID aims to support both fundamental and translational research in immunity, infection, and inflammation

The objectives of this post are to provide a rigorous training, cutting-edge skills and broad academic insight and expertise to bring novel approaches to the study of immune, infectious, and inflammatory disorders. The student will be offered a range of study options, with the objectives of improving our knowledge and understanding of the pathogenesis of infectious, immune and inflammatory disorders. Students are encouraged to broaden their interests and are not expected to apply with a specific supervisor/laboratory in mind. The first few weeks of training involves the opportunity to work with in different group leaders prior to choosing which laboratory they would like to pursue their 3.5-year PhD thesis project.

In addition to 'state of the art' research facilities, students will have access to a wide variety of training and researcher development activities, many of which are offered through the Graduate School of Life Sciences and the wider University.

Eligibility Academic requirements: At least a 2:1 Honours degree from a UK university or equivalent in a related topic. If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.

Residence Eligibility: UK students will be eligible for a full studentship, covering the costs of Home fees and a stipend (currently) of £18,500 per annum for 4 years. Further information on how your fee status is determined can be found here:
