About The Role
As a Civil & Structural Eng II you will be delivering a wide range of engineering tasks—either independently or as a key contributor within a multidisciplinary team. You'll represent CS&A engineering efforts across large, complex projects or multiple medium-sized ones, ensuring compliance and collaboration throughout. You will report to the Project Engineering Manager on multi-disciplinary projects and work with the Principal Engineer, while also mentoring junior engineers and designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Main contributor in CS&A engineering activities across assigned projects, acting as the discipline's technical point of contact.
- Deliver engineering tasks independently and take full ownership of technical outcomes.
- Review and validate engineering work from consultants and subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Resolve technical issues, justify design decisions, and interpret engineering data effectively.
- Develop design bases, specifications, technical reports, calculations, and sizing analyses.
- Produce and verify engineering deliverables including drawings, design reviews, change control documents, and calculation notes.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and internal procedures, including CDM regulations.
- Present CS&A designs to clients and stakeholders, adapting communication for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Deliver engineering outputs within scope, schedule, and budget, while managing any commercial impacts.
- Prepare high‑quality documentation that is technically accurate and formatted.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Structural or Architecture Engineering.
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is desired.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CS&A engineering, ideally within the nuclear sector. Experience in energy, oil & gas, or civil construction is also valued.
- Candidate must be able to pass Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) clearance checks, as this is a minimum requirement for site based work.
- Understanding of engineering codes, standards, and regulations, including CDM.
- Proven expertise in CS&A design principles and technical documentation.
- Experience in civil construction and construction management.
- Knowledge of seismic, blast, and impact load design.
- Familiarity with main systems and technical equipment associated to large facilities and production plants.
