Civil Design Engineer - Transportation

About the Role

Our client seeks a talented Civil Design Engineer with a specialization in transportation infrastructure to join their team in Leeds . This role involves the design and development of road networks, highways, and related infrastructure, contributing to key regional development projects. You will be an integral part of a forward-thinking engineering department, utilizing advanced design tools and methodologies to deliver sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of highway and road infrastructure, including junction improvements, traffic calming measures, and new road alignments.
• Conducting traffic assessments, capacity analysis, and site investigations.
• Preparation of detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Ensuring designs comply with DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and other relevant standards.
• Liaising with local authorities, utility companies, and construction teams to facilitate project delivery.
• Contributing to feasibility studies and option appraisals for transportation schemes.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in transportation engineering design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and relevant traffic modeling software.
• Good understanding of highway design principles and UK road standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage individual project tasks.
• Strong communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
