About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer with specialization in Water Resources to join their esteemed practice in Coventry . This role involves contributing to the design and delivery of sustainable water management solutions for a variety of public and private sector clients. You will be instrumental in developing innovative approaches to flood risk management, drainage systems, and water supply infrastructure. The position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to engineering best practices, working within a forward-thinking organization that prioritizes environmental responsibility and client satisfaction through technical expertise and effective collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake the detailed design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), flood alleviation schemes, and water supply networks.
- Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and contract documents for water resource projects.
- Conduct hydraulic modelling and analysis using industry-standard software to assess performance and identify risks.
- Liaise with statutory consultees, local authorities, and clients to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.
- Provide technical support and supervision during the construction phase of water infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- An accredited Civil Engineering degree and progressing towards or holding chartered status (e.g., CIWEM).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the water resources sector, with a strong understanding of hydrological principles and drainage design.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks) and GIS tools.
- Experience in preparing environmental impact assessments and navigating planning permissions for water projects.
- Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation.
