About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge . This role focuses on the precise design and development of infrastructure elements for various exciting projects within Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for translating project requirements into effective, compliant, and sustainable engineering designs, working collaboratively with architects, planners, and other engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills in design software and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the creation of high-quality built environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure, including roads, drainage, and utilities.
- Utilize CAD software to create accurate drawings, plans, and sections.
- Perform engineering calculations for aspects such as earthworks, surface water management, and pavement design.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national standards, building regulations, and environmental policies.
- Liaise with statutory bodies and utility companies as required during the design process.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider project team to integrate designs seamlessly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
- Good understanding of drainage design principles and UK regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
