About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Civil Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Sheffield . This role is central to the conceptualization and detailed design of a variety of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, and public realm enhancements. You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs and documentation that meet project requirements and regulatory standards. This position adopts a hybrid working model, offering a blend of remote working flexibility and essential collaboration at our Sheffield office. We are looking for a technically strong individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating sustainable and functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed civil engineering designs for site infrastructure, including roads, drainage, and utility systems.
- Prepare design drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports using relevant software.
- Ensure designs comply with national building codes, local authority requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines, architects, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to review progress and provide design support during the construction phase.
- Contribute to the technical innovation and problem-solving efforts within the design team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil design engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and drainage design software.
- Understanding of site development principles, earthworks, and infrastructure design.
- Knowledge of relevant UK planning policies and construction standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
