Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their growing team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . In this role, you will be responsible for the technical design aspects of various civil engineering projects, translating conceptual ideas into detailed engineering plans and specifications. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and other disciplines to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and site development, using CAD software.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess project viability and identify potential design challenges.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs are integrated effectively with other project disciplines and meet construction needs.
• Perform design reviews and provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any design-related queries or issues.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK building regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety legislation.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience as a Civil Design Engineer, with a strong portfolio of design work.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD , Civil 3D, or similar civil engineering design software .
• Solid understanding of drainage design, road alignment, and site layout principles.
• Familiarity with UK planning and building regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
