About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Belfast . This role focuses on the detailed design and technical aspects of various infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and land development. You will be instrumental in translating project requirements into robust, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions. Working within a hybrid model, you'll collaborate closely with project managers and external consultants, contributing your expertise to projects that enhance the built environment of Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed design work for civil engineering schemes, including road alignment, earthworks, and drainage systems.
- Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and option appraisals for proposed developments.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant UK and Northern Ireland building regulations, standards, and environmental requirements.
- Review designs prepared by other engineers or external consultants for quality and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and respond to technical queries during the construction phase.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design , ideally with a focus on infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage.
- Strong understanding of structural principles, hydraulics, and geotechnical considerations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid setting.
