About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated Civil Design Engineer to join their vibrant team in Liverpool, Merseyside . This role focuses on the conceptualisation, design, and detailed development of infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and site development for residential and commercial properties. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and cost-effective. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-to-mid career engineer to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the built environment, developing key design skills within a supportive team structure and playing a vital role in delivering essential infrastructure for the Liverpool area and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop preliminary and detailed designs for civil engineering works, including site layouts, grading, and utility infrastructure.
- Produce technical drawings, calculations, and specifications using CAD and relevant design software.
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines, such as structural, architectural, and MEP engineers.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and construction support documentation.
- Conduct site visits to familiarise yourself with existing conditions and verify design elements during construction.
- Ensure designs adhere to relevant building codes, standards, and client requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in civil design engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
- Good understanding of drainage design principles, earthworks, and road design.
- Familiarity with UK planning and building regulations.
- Strong desire to learn and develop technical and project management skills.
