About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Design Manager to lead their design division in Edinburgh . This senior role involves overseeing all aspects of civil engineering design, from initial concept through to detailed construction documentation for a variety of projects. You will manage a team of design engineers, ensuring high standards of technical quality, innovation, and timely delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the civil engineering design process across multiple projects.
• Develop and implement design strategies, standards, and best practices.
• Oversee the work of the design team, providing technical guidance and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to define project requirements.
• Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
• Contribute to business development by assisting with proposals and tenders.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in civil engineering design, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of design principles, software, and project lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of UK construction regulations and contract administration.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
