About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Civil Drainage Engineer to join their team, offering a flexible working arrangement with the possibility of working remotely or from their Norwich office. This role focuses specifically on the design and implementation of effective drainage solutions for a range of development projects, including sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS). You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that drainage strategies are innovative, compliant, and environmentally sound. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about water management and sustainable design to make a significant contribution to the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyse surface water and foul water drainage systems for various development projects.
- Develop and implement sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) strategies.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Liaise with Lead Engineers and other disciplines to integrate drainage design requirements.
- Undertake flood risk assessments and produce associated reports.
- Coordinate with statutory bodies, including Lead Local Flood Authorities and the Environment Agency.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related environmental discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience focused on drainage design.
- Proficiency in drainage design software such as MicroDrainage (WinDSAP, Flood Modeller Pro) and hydraulic modelling.
- Familiarity with UK drainage standards and planning policy regarding flood risk and surface water management.
- Knowledge of Section 104 , Section 116 , and Section 18 agreements would be beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
