Civil Engineer - Coastal & Maritime

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer with expertise in Coastal and Maritime engineering to join their team in Plymouth . This role is vital for designing and managing projects related to marine structures, coastal defenses, ports, and harbors, contributing to the resilience and development of coastal areas. You will be involved in all phases of project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and concept design to detailed engineering, construction supervision, and asset management. Key Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of marine structures, including breakwaters, seawalls, jetties, and quay walls.
• Conduct hydrodynamic and morphological studies relevant to coastal processes.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and contract documents for maritime projects.
• Undertake site investigations, including bathymetric surveys and geotechnical assessments.
• Manage project risks, budgets, and timelines, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including port authorities, environmental agencies, and construction teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization or significant experience in coastal/maritime engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the maritime sector.
• Proficiency in specialized software such as MIKE suite, GRLWEAP , or similar.
• Strong understanding of naval architecture principles, coastal processes, and marine geotechnics.
• Experience with UK and international maritime standards and regulations.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
