About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a passion for sustainable infrastructure to join their team in Sheffield . This hybrid role focuses on the design and implementation of environmentally responsible civil engineering solutions, including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), green infrastructure, and low-carbon construction practices. You will contribute to projects that aim to minimize environmental impact and enhance ecological value, working collaboratively with a team of environmental specialists and engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), including permeable paving, green roofs, and swales.
- Contribute to the development of low-carbon design strategies for civil engineering projects.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for sustainable infrastructure components.
- Liaise with environmental consultants, ecologists, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with sustainability standards.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for green infrastructure projects.
- Stay current with advancements in sustainable construction materials and techniques.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a focus on sustainability.
- Experience in designing and implementing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) or green infrastructure.
- Good understanding of environmental impact assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with relevant UK environmental legislation and policies.
- Proficiency in CAD software and an understanding of GIS applications.
- Strong analytical skills and a commitment to sustainable development principles.
