About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Civil Engineering Manager to lead their engineering operations in Oxford . This senior management position requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and project delivery across various sectors, including infrastructure, development, and construction. You will be responsible for overseeing project teams, managing client relationships, ensuring technical excellence, and driving business growth. This is a critical role for shaping the company's technical capabilities and contributing to the development of high-impact projects in the historic and dynamic city of Oxford and its surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct a team of civil engineers and technical staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of a portfolio of civil engineering projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and business development of the civil engineering division.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, financial management skills, and business development experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
