About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role involves supporting engineers and project managers in the design and delivery of a wide range of civil engineering projects, including residential developments, commercial sites, and public realm improvements. You will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, carrying out site surveys, and assisting with project documentation. This is a great opportunity for a developing technician to gain broad experience and contribute to key projects in the Hampshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and sections using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Assist in the production of technical reports, calculations, and specifications under engineer supervision.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and monitor construction progress.
- Support the project team by providing technical information and documentation as required.
- Ensure all technical output conforms to company standards and project requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams and external parties as directed by the project engineer.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification such as BTEC/HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Experience working as a Civil Engineering Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Civil 3D or other 3D modelling software is advantageous.
- Good understanding of basic engineering principles and construction practices.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
