Civil Project Engineer - Utilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organised Civil Project Engineer with a focus on Utilities to join their expanding team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is key to the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects involving essential service infrastructure, such as water, gas, and telecommunications. You will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for utility infrastructure projects, including planning, design coordination, procurement, and construction oversight.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with utility providers, local authorities, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and facilitate progress.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings to monitor project performance and identify potential risks.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project engineering, with a strong background in utility infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with the design, construction, and regulation of underground and overhead utility systems.
• Proficiency in project management software and standard office applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, suitable for our Stoke-on-Trent -based operations with hybrid working flexibility.
