Civil Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Civil Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure projects from their base in Norwich, Norfolk, UK , operating under a hybrid work model. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of civil engineering schemes, managing all aspects from initiation to close-out. You will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and timelines, and liaising with clients and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive project management experience, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of design teams, contractors, and other project personnel.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and managing expectations effectively.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction management discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the civil engineering or construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of contract management , procurement, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) is advantageous.
