About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Civil Site Engineer to join their construction team in Wolverhampton . This role is fundamental to ensuring the quality and accuracy of civil engineering works on-site, from setting out and surveying to quality control and compliance checks. You will work closely with the site management team, contractors, and engineers to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the specified standards. This position requires a strong commitment to on-site presence and hands-on problem-solving, contributing directly to the successful completion of diverse construction projects in the West Midlands region. The ideal candidate is proactive and safety-conscious.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality control checks, and safety audits.
- Perform accurate setting out and surveying using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, providing guidance to site personnel.
- Monitor progress of works, reporting any deviations or issues to the project manager.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction projects.
- Proficiency in setting out, surveying, and using relevant engineering tools (e.g., Total Station, GPS).
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and temporary works.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements in a construction environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
