About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and practical Civil Site Engineer to oversee construction activities on a key infrastructure project in Brighton . This hands-on role requires ensuring that all civil engineering works are carried out safely, to the specified quality standards, and in accordance with the project programme. You will be responsible for managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and liaising with the project management team to ensure the smooth progress of work on this exciting development in East Sussex . This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a site-based environment and is keen to contribute to tangible construction outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all civil engineering construction activities on-site.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and site-specific method statements.
- Monitor and control the quality of workmanship, materials, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for site activities.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors and manage site resources effectively.
- Liaise with the project manager, design team, and clients to resolve site issues and queries.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, site management, and health & safety procedures.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and interpreting construction drawings.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
