About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Civil Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Portsmouth . This hybrid role combines office-based design work with opportunities for site visits, contributing to a variety of structural and civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and specification of structural elements for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with the latest codes. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building and civil engineering structures.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and construction teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards and building regulations.
• Provide technical support and advice to site teams and clients as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional qualification (e.g., MIStructE, MICE) or working towards it.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering design .
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer) and CAD .
• Strong understanding of materials science, load calculations, and seismic design principles.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
