Civil Utilities Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Utilities Engineer to join their team in Norwich . This role is integral to the successful planning and implementation of utility infrastructure for various development projects, ensuring the reliable provision of essential services. You will be responsible for the design, coordination, and project management of water, drainage, gas, and electrical services, working closely with utility providers, contractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities

• Design and specification of underground utility networks, including water supply, foul and surface water drainage, and gas/electricity infrastructure.
• Coordinate with statutory undertakers and utility companies to obtain approvals and ensure service connections.
• Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and reports for utility designs, adhering to relevant standards.
• Manage utility aspects of projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery in coordination with overall project plans.
• Undertake site inspections to oversee the installation and commissioning of utility services.
• Identify and assess risks associated with utility provisions and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in the design and coordination of civil utilities.
• Proficiency in CAD software and specific utility design tools (e.g., MicroDrainage, water network modelling software).
• Good understanding of relevant design standards and codes for various utilities.
• Experience liaising with utility providers and managing their requirements within development projects.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
