Our client is seeking a qualified and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join their busy pallet distribution hub in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of goods throughout the Midlands region. You will be responsible for collecting and delivering palletized freight to various business addresses, operating a modern fleet of vehicles. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism, with a keen eye for detail in load security and delivery confirmation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle for the collection and delivery of palletized goods across the Birmingham area and wider Midlands.
- Ensure all loads are safely secured and comply with legal requirements for weight and dimensions.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks, reporting any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
- Accurately complete all necessary delivery notes, consignment forms, and digital tachograph records.
- Maintain clear communication with the transport office regarding delivery status, delays, and any issues encountered.
- Adhere strictly to working time regulations and road safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Hold a valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
- Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience driving Class 1 HGV vehicles professionally.
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK road networks, particularly within the Midlands .
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery windows.
- A professional demeanor and commitment to excellent customer service.
