Class 2 Driver - Waste Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a robust and responsible Class 2 Driver to join their essential waste management services team in Wolverhampton . This vital role ensures the efficient collection and transportation of waste and recycling materials across the city. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, committed to safety, and possess a strong understanding of operating heavy vehicles within an urban environment. This position contributes directly to community wellbeing and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 vehicle for waste and recycling collection routes.
• Safely manoeuvre the vehicle in residential and industrial areas, often in confined spaces.
• Adhere to strict collection schedules and routes.
• Perform basic vehicle checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure waste is collected and transported securely, preventing spillage.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour with the public.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
• Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous experience driving Class 2 vehicles, ideally in waste management or a similar sector.
• Good knowledge of the Wolverhampton area.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collection crew.
