Job Role of the Class 2 Driver:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Driver to join a well-established business based in Purfleet. This is a permanent opportunity working a 4 on 4 off days shift pattern , although candidates must be flexible and willing to cover night shifts when required by the business .

The successful Class 2 Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials using tanker vehicles. Due to the nature of the operation, previous tanker driving experience and strong Dangerous Goods / ADR knowledge are essential .

You will be responsible for carrying out all deliveries safely and in accordance with ADR regulations, company procedures and current transport legislation. The role requires a professional driver who takes safety seriously and is comfortable working within a highly regulated environment.

Sector – Hazardous Materials / Tanker Operations

The Class 2 Driver will be responsible for:

• Operating Class 2 HGV tanker vehicles safely and professionally.
• Transporting hazardous materials in accordance with ADR regulations.
• Carrying out tanker collections and deliveries to customer sites.
• Completing all required vehicle, load and transport documentation accurately.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects immediately.
• Ensuring loads are transported, handled and delivered safely.
• Following all site-specific health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Maintaining excellent standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Communicating professionally with customers, transport teams and site personnel.
• Working a 4 on 4 off days pattern while remaining flexible to cover nights when operationally required.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Class 2 Driver:

• Valid Class 2 / Category C Driving Licence. xwwtmva
• Dangerous Goods / ADR experience and knowledge – Class 8 & Class 9 minimum required.
