Class 2 Grab Driver

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Grabwagon Driver to join our team, carrying out work on behalf of a local authority.

The role will involve operating a grab wagon safely and efficiently across local authority sites and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation and loading/unloading of materials, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism when working on public sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maintain a grab wagon in accordance with company and legal requirements.
• Collect and transport materials including soil, aggregates, hardcore and other waste/materials as required.
• Operate the vehicle-mounted grab crane safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks and report any defects.
• Follow local authority site rules, health and safety procedures and traffic management requirements.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Keep the vehicle clean and in a safe, roadworthy condition.

Requirements:

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence .
• Previous experience driving a grab wagon is essential.
• Experience operating a vehicle-mounted grab crane.
• Good knowledge of UK road and transport regulations.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.

Desirable:

• Experience working on local authority or highways contracts.
• Knowledge of construction, highways or waste operations.
• Experience working around pedestrians, traffic management and public areas.
