Clinical / Forensic Psychologist

The Men's Personality Disorder Service Psychology department, Rampton Hospital is seeking a clinical and or forensic psychologist for a 12 month fixed term contract is to provide maternity leave cover. This established department consists of six qualified clinical and forensic psychologists and two assistant psychologists, and regularly provides placements to clinical and forensic trainee psychologists. The psychologists, along with two CNPs and a Nurse Consultant, provide an integrated trauma informed psychological treatment pathway within a multidisciplinary treatment service. The psychological pathway includes DBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, and offence reduction programmes, and draws on multiple models and approaches, e.g., polyvagal theory, somatic experiencing, compassion focused therapy. These developmental interpersonal and trauma informed models are used to formulate and guide treatment for men given a diagnosis of personality disorder. Clinical supervision is prioritised and specialist therapy supervision is available. There is a strong focus on multidisciplinary working and the successful candidate will be working into specified wards and MDTS.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist clinical and forensic psychology service to patients within the Men’s Personality Disorder Service. To provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy, supervision and reflective practice, and advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to other members of the clinical team. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within Rampton Hospital
