Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join their expanding security team in Glasgow . This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security controls for cloud environments, primarily focusing on AWS and Azure. You will work to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based assets and applications, proactively identifying and mitigating security risks. This hybrid position offers a balance of remote work flexibility and essential in-office collaboration to drive forward the company's cloud security strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security solutions for cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure .
• Implement and maintain security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data protection.
• Develop and automate security processes and controls using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Monitor cloud environments for security threats and incidents, and respond effectively to security breaches.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud resources to ensure compliance and identify vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or in a similar cloud security role.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices for AWS , Azure , or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security tools, including firewalls, WAFs, security groups, and IAM policies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate are highly valued.
