About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join their team in Bristol . This role is essential for ensuring the security and compliance of their cloud infrastructure across major platforms like AWS and Azure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security controls, automating security processes, and responding to cloud-based threats. This hybrid position offers a dynamic work environment where you can leverage your expertise to protect critical cloud assets, working collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to maintain a robust cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security controls and services within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts and tools to streamline security operations and compliance checks.
- Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending remediation actions.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and solutions for cloud resources.
- Respond to security incidents and threats targeting cloud infrastructure, performing analysis and coordinating mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline and cloud deployments for effective information security .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cloud security engineering.
- Proven experience securing AWS, Azure, or GCP environments, including IAM, network security, and data protection.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for security automation.
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, container security (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevSecOps principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
