Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join their expanding IT team in Nottingham . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and managing security controls across our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and services. You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies to build and maintain a secure cloud environment, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security best practices and a passion for building secure, scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud adoption.
• Configure and manage cloud security services, including firewalls, IAM, encryption, and logging.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Respond to cloud security incidents and support incident response activities.
• Automate security tasks and processes using scripting and relevant tools.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT security, with a significant focus on cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its security services.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles , network security, and identity and access management (IAM).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
• Familiarity with security scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools.
