Job Description
Role: CNC Machinist / CNC Operator
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
A well-established precision engineering business is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator to its growing production team.
The company manufactures high-precision components for demanding customers across sectors including aerospace, automotive and high-performance engineering, working with modern CNC machining technology and tight quality requirements.
This is a great opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment and wants to develop their skills further.
Responsibilities:
Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
Producing precision components to drawing and specification
Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and programmes
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Carrying out in-process inspection and basic measurement
Deburring and finishing components where required
Making minor offsets and adjustments to maintain quality
Re-setting machines when required
Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Carrying out basic machine checks and minor maintenance
Working to production targets while maintaining high quality standards
Skills and experience:
Previous CNC machining experience
Experience of setting and/or operating CNC milling or turning machinery
Ability to read engineering drawings
Good understanding of cutting tools, tooling and workholding
Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
