Shillito Group is recruiting an experienced CNC Set/Operator for an established precision engineering business in Sheffield.
We're looking for someone who knows their way around a machine shop and can confidently take responsibility for setting, machining and checking their own work.
What you'll be doing
Setting and operating CNC machinery, predominantley VMC Machines
Working accurately from engineering drawings
Making programme edits and adjustments where required
Selecting tooling and setting offsets
Producing and inspecting first-off components
Machining components to tight tolerances
Carrying out dimensional and quality checks throughout production
Keeping machines running efficiently and maintaining good shop-floor standards
What we need
This isn't purely an operator role.
You'll need proven CNC setting experience and be comfortable taking a job from drawing through to a correctly machined component.
We're looking for someone who can:
Read and understand engineering drawings
Work confidently to tight tolerances
Make programme adjustments
Set tooling and offsets
Carry out first-off and in-process inspection
Take responsibility for the quality of their own work
