CNC Machinist

About the Role

Our client, a specialist manufacturer based in Southampton , is looking for a skilled and dedicated CNC Machinist to join their precision engineering team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality components according to strict specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of machining techniques. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional products to a diverse client base within the engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathes, mills) to perform precision machining operations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code to ensure accurate production.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform minor maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve production challenges.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up various CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Strong understanding of metalworking and machining processes.
