CNC Maintenance Engineer – Electrical & PLC
Location: Teesside
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Days initially, progressing to Days & Nights
Sector: Manufacturing / Engineering
The Opportunity
We are working with an established manufacturing business based in Teesside that is looking to appoint an experienced CNC Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer with a strong background in CNC machinery, PLC fault finding and electrical maintenance to take ownership of the site's maintenance requirements and play a key role in developing a robust preventive maintenance regime.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across a range of CNC and manufacturing equipment.
*
Diagnose and repair electrical, PLC, control and automation faults.
*
Provide first-line support for CNC machinery and associated production equipment.
*
Develop, implement and continuously improve a structured preventive maintenance (PPM) programme.
*
Identify recurring equipment issues and implement solutions to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.
*
Carry out electrical fault finding using appropriate test equipment and diagnostic techniques.
*
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and machine documentation.
*
Support PLC fault finding, including identifying I/O, sensor, actuator and control-related issues.
*
Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of machinery and equipment where required.
You will ideally have:
*
Proven experience as a CNC Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
*
Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
*
Good PLC fault-finding experience.
*
Experience working with CNC machinery and associated control systems.
*
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
*
Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications would be advantageous.
The Person
This role would suit an experienced CNC Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Controls Engineer or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer who is looking for a position where they can use their electrical and PLC expertise while having a real influence on the site's maintenance strategy
