CNC Mill Turn Setter Operator | Precision Engineering | up to £39,000 | Chelmsford
The Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill Turn Setter Operator to join a precision engineering company in Chelmsford.
You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC machining centres, producing precision components in small to medium batches across a range of materials. The role involves working from existing programmes as well as programming new components from scratch using on-machine programming.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate and programme CNC machining centres
Produce low-volume, precision components to customer specifications
Use existing programmes, tooling and fixtures
Programme new components from scratch where required
Select appropriate tooling and make machine adjustments
Produce and inspect first-off components
Carry out in-process inspection and maintain quality standards
Read and interpret engineering drawings and models
Liaise with the Inspection and Machine Shop teams
Identify and resolve machining issues where possible
Operate multiple machining centres when required
About You
The successful CNC Mill Turn Setter Operator will have a strong engineering background and previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
You should have:
Experience programming CNC machines
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good knowledge of tooling and machining processes
Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
A practical, problem-solving approach
Good attention to detail and quality standards
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Mazatrol, Fanuc, XYZ or Citizen controls would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Fusion 360 or Gibbs.
An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification would also be beneficial.
The Package
Up to £19 per hour, depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
40-hour working week
