An established precision engineering company in Andover is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join its skilled manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist with a strong background in precision engineering who takes pride in producing high-quality components and enjoys working in a modern machining environment. The business manufactures complex, low-volume precision parts for demanding industries using advanced CNC technology and inspection equipment.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances, and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
Experience with Heidenhain-controlled CNC milling machines is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines.
- Machine complex precision components to engineering drawings.
- Produce first-off and low-volume batch work to tight tolerances.
- Carry out self-inspection using measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Support tooling selection and machining processes.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
Requirements:
Essential
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator.
- Ability to work from engineering drawings.
- Experience machining precision-engineered components.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and self-inspection.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable
- Experience with Heidenhain controls.
- Experience machining gearbox components or similarly complex parts.
- Engineering or manufacturing qualifications.
