Job Description
CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter & Operator - Fanuc
Working from the recently refurbished factory, you will be part of a precision engineering business specialising in subcontract manufacturing. This is a hands-on role ideally suited to an experienced CNC Turner who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing high-quality work and is confident working independently.
My client manufacture components in a wide range of materials, from mild steel and stainless steel through to super duplex, brass, aluminium and plastics, with production ranging from one-off prototypes to medium batch quantities.
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for the complete machining process, including:

Programming, setting and operating CNC multi-axis lathes using Fanuc and Manual Guide.

Manufacturing precision components from prototypes through to medium batch production.
*
Working in a fast-paced subcontract engineering environment with frequent changes between jobs.
*
Setting and resetting machines independently, often several times throughout the day.
*
Working with CNC lathes equipped with bar feed systems.
*
Inspecting your own work to ensure components meet drawing and quality requirements.
*
Carrying out first-off inspections using equipment including verniers, micrometers, thread gauges and other inspection equipment.
The Ideal Candidate
*
At least 5 years' industry experience in a subcontract precision engineering environment.
*
Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC multi-axis lathes.
*
Good working knowledge of Fanuc and Manual Guide controls.
*
Experience using CNC lathes with bar feed systems.
*
The ability to independently change and reset machines multiple times throughout the working day.
*
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection requirements.
*
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
*
Confidence carrying out first-off inspections using verniers, micrometers, thread gauges and similar measuring equipment.
*
Competitive salary up to £45,000, depending on skill level and experience.

Full pay review after 3 months, with the opportunity for an increase based on demonstrated ability.

4-day working week – Monday to Thursday, 06:30–17:00.
