We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Turner / Setter to join our busy and growing manufacturing team, producing precision parts for a wide range of industries including automotive / construction / marine.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist who is confident with machine setting, tool changes, offsets and basic programming, and who takes pride in producing high-quality, accurate components.
The Role
As a CNC Turner / Setter, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, ensuring machines are correctly prepared and producing components to the required specifications. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications, make adjustments to offsets and tooling, and carry out basic programme edits where required.
Key Responsibilities for the Machinist include:
Setting and operating CNC turning / lathe machines
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Selecting and setting appropriate tooling
Adjusting tool offsets and machine settings
Carrying out basic CNC programme edits
Inspecting finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
Maintaining quality and production standards
Working safely and keeping the work area clean and organised
Supporting with saws, drillers, grinders and presses
About You
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a CNC turning environment who can confidently set and operate machines with minimal supervision. You should have a good understanding of engineering drawings, machining processes, tooling and dimensional inspection. The company use XYZ controls, but if you are a confident programmer on other software types, this will still be considered.
Hours of work: (Apply online only) Monday to Thursday
Rate of pay: £14-£16 range if you are a semi-skilled setter operator / Up to £21 per hour if you are capable of running and programming all machine types from day one
Experience with CNC programming or programme editing would be advantageous, although basic programming skills are sufficient.
