College Day Support Worker - Empowering students towards independence (Hiring Immediately)

Mercury College is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated College Day Support Workers to join our specialist education team. Working with adults with learning disabilities and intensive specialist support needs, you will play a vital role in helping students access their education, develop independence and achieve meaningful outcomes. You will work closely with Tutors, Tutor Assistants and multidisciplinary colleagues to provide personalised support throughout the college day, both in the classroom and within the wider college community. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will support students to participate in learning activities, develop communication, literacy and numeracy skills, manage transitions throughout the day and engage in social and community-based opportunities. You will also provide personal care, assist with medical needs where required, and support students to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships. As a key member of the college team, you will maintain accurate records, contribute to the monitoring of progress and achievement, and act as a positive role model for students. Above all, you will help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive and make progress towards their individual aspirations.
