Commercial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a commercially astute Commercial Accountant to join their finance team in Portsmouth . This role focuses on providing financial support and analysis to the commercial and operational teams, helping to drive profitability and informed business decisions. You will be involved in pricing, profitability analysis, and performance management, working closely with non-finance stakeholders to interpret financial data and identify key business drivers. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys understanding the operational side of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze product and customer profitability, providing insights and recommendations.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process for commercial departments.
• Develop and maintain financial models to assess business cases and investment opportunities.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance reports.
• Assist with pricing strategies and analysis.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive revenue growth.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and Excel skills, with experience in financial modeling.
• Experience working in a commercial finance or business partnering role is advantageous.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
