Commercial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and commercially astute Commercial Accountant to join their team in Glasgow . This role focuses on providing financial support and insights to business units, helping to drive profitability and strategic decision-making. You will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and providing financial guidance to operational managers. Key Responsibilities

• Partner with commercial teams to provide financial analysis, insights, and support for business initiatives.
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.
• Analyse sales, profitability, and cost data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare regular commercial reports for management, highlighting key financial performance indicators.
• Assist in pricing strategies, tender analysis, and investment appraisals.
• Ensure robust financial controls are in place within the commercial operations.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven experience in a commercial finance or management accounting role.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting systems.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable liaising with non-finance stakeholders.
